I Don't Want Blue Skies and Popsicles Every day

I got a new companion this week! He is the man.
His name is Elder Lybbert. He's from the South
East corner of Washington State - a city called
Burbank. He was just called as a Zone Leader
and has so much zeal for the work. We have
already, in only two days of serving with
eachother, been able to have some wonderful
experiences. Last night was one of them.
Our assistant ward mission leader, Brother
Arntsen, and another member, Brother Hendricks,
teamed up on their boss at work and invited him
to hear the message of the restoration. So Elder
Lybbert and I were so privileged to be the one's
to share it with him. He is a former pastor and
very well versed in the Bible. We didn't share
anything that we didn't know. That's one thing I
have come to realize in any teaching situation is
that all I have to do is say what I know to be
true. It was a great lesson to say the least.
Their boss agreed to read from and pray about the
Book of Mormon. He had a few hold ups here and there
but we were able to bear testimony of the keystone
of our religion and that it is the way to know
whether or not what we believe is true. Something
to share with the missionaries is just say what
you know, and don't be afraid to say something
that isn't part of the lesson. All the lessons
are true and all truth invites the Spirit. If the
Spirit prompts you to say something then say it.

Another talk I have been studying lately is one
from President Eyring when he was still Elder
Eyring. It's called Coming Unto Christ. It's
an incredible talk.I was so glad to hear that
y'all had a peaceful happy joy filled Memorial
Day weekend. I had you on my mind that's for sure.
What a blessing it is to know the Plan of
Salvation and to be able to share that knowledge
with the world. Also what a blessing adversity is.
If it weren't for hard times I would not appreciate
the Savior for what he accomplished. The
Atonement is magnified for me when I am weakest.
It lifts me up where I know God wants me to
be as his son. All the adversity we go through
is for an eternal purpose and for our own personal
growth. It gives us the experience necessary to
come before our creator prepared and ready for
the infinite. I don't want blue skies and popsicles
every day.

I loved that poem you shared thank you Dad. It is
Heaven on Earth for me because of my family. As
we know that Heaven is just a continuation of the
ideal home. You are ideal Dad. You make me want
to be a better person so that I can make a
difference and bring about a better tomorrow.

Love Elder Jarman
